Power at your Fingertips

Knowledge and Business Center Launched

Education is the primary agent of transformation towards sustainable development, increasing people’s capacities to transform their visions for society into reality. Education not only provides scientific and technical skills, it also provides the motivation, justification, and social support for pursuing and applying them.

Sadly, quality education is always associated with higher spending. The charging of school fees is a major barrier that prevents all children from accessing and completing quality basic education. This is particularly significant in countries like the Philippines where prevailing high poverty levels impose tough choices on parents, about how many and which of their children to send to school, and for how long.

Realizing this need, INFOCHAT and Silicon Valley Computer Center (SVCC) established the country’s first Knowledge and Business Center called “POWERTIPS” located at the 5th Level of Podium in Ortigas.

Both INFOCHAT and SVCC strongly believes that the economic development of any country is largely dependent on the development of its human resource base. While other say it is simply not possible to expect a high-quality education at a bargain-basement tuition price. POWERTIPS say it is possible – High Quality Education need not be Expensive.

Some of the topics discussed at the knowledge center are Internet for Kids, Internet for Everyone, MAC applications (iTunes, iPhoto, iVideo), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access), Adobe (Photoshop, Premier), English and Chinese language proficiency (writing, grammar, diction) and a lot more. The courses are designed to prepare every attendees to meet the challenges of the corporate world.

The Business Center offering provides every individual to conduct their meetings, conferences and do their sales presentations in a more professional and private location rather than the usual coffee shops and restaurants. The Powertips Business Center offers state of the art facilities like notebook computers, wireless Internet connections, projectors, scanners, printers, fax machines, copiers and more.

In today’s global economy, the quality of our education system will determine the jobs we produce and the prosperity we create. Powertips is all about putting power at your fingertips.
