Ninoy Aquino and the Internet

As we commemorate the 25th death anniversary of Benigno S. Aquino Jr., I can’t help but wonder how could his fight against the dictator be had the Internet been available during his time.

Ninoy am sure will have his own blog, writing and sharing all this thoughts on what he thinks would be best for our country. Since Ninoy is a debater, a discussion forum will surely be somewhere in his websites – an open discussion about the country will be something Ninoy would enjoy.

His speeches and talks will definitely be uploaded somewhere on the web like YouTube for everyone to view. When he was in the U.S., services like YouTube will be a great tool that Ninoy would use to keep in touch with his fellowmen.

Podcast will be another tool Ninoy would use. He will surely have his own internet radio program. I can just imagine how often Ninoy will update his podcast for he has a lot to say.

Ninoy might also setup his own chatroom or even communicate or grant interviews via Instant Messenging – send his thoughts in real time. Ninoy will also join groups all over the web to make sure his voice is heard by the community.

The fight would have been different. Ninoy won’t be silenced by his opponents. Ninoy’s messages can’t be censored.

But that’s what makes Ninoy great – He made all his voice and all his messages be heard all over the world without the Internet. Visit http://www.iamninoy.com to participate in a year-long celebration of Ninoy’s life and legacy for the benefit of others in need. Be counted. Be a Hero.

God Bless us all!
